Avanti is a young professional flute and piano duo based in Cape Town. Sally Minter and Coila-Leah Enderstein have been garnering a reputation for their sophisticated performances and seamless ensemble since they began playing together in 2014. They share a vision for curating thoughtful programmes that present the flute and piano repertoire in a way that engages audiences in an intimate and captivating way.

Since 2014 Avanti have performed in various capacities, from intimate soirées to acclaimed recitals in some of Cape Town’s favourite venues, and as guest performers at the Fine Music Radio Awards, Le Petit Mort’s Chamber Nights and Biblioteek’s popular In the Dark series at YoungBlood Gallery.  Avanti won the duo category prize at the Stellenbosch National Ensemble Competition for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016.  In 2017, Avanti were awarded and premiered a SAMRO commissioned work by South African composer Amy Luyendijk and were featured in the Cape Argus, interviewed live on Fine Music Radio and performed live on the SABC3's Expresso Morning Show.

2017 was a promising year for Avanti; they toured Johannesburg, performed a recital at the Casa Labia and for the Overstrand Arts/Kunste Society, and were selected to participate in the sought-after DISA Decoda course, where they were coached by some of New York's most highly-regarded musicians.

Avanti launched their debut album "Avanti Live in Concert" in 2018 at the Centre for the Book in Cape Town.  The album was recorded at a live recital in the Endler Hall in Stellenbosch after a very successful crowd-funding campaign.  It is thanks to their loyal supporters in South Africa and abroad that they were able to record, design and promote an album independently.
